The Davidson Chorale, one of the most highly awarded high school choirs in the United States, will perform Handel’s glorious Messiah with the Lyra Vivace Chamber Orchestra and soloists. Many choirs sing this music, many instrumentalists play it, and many audience members hear it, but this performance is special. This concert is a unique opportunity for the talented students in the Davidson Chorale to rehearse and perform with professional instrumentalists and vocal soloists.

The Davidson Chorale will bring unprecedented artistry and preparation to this performance, partnering with the brilliant Lyra Vivace chamber orchestra for an unforgettable night of music. However, they also experience challenges that are typical of high school groups: namely, the annual decreasing budget shortfalls so typical of public schools. Alone, a performance which pairs such excellent high school musicians with accomplished professionals is out reach for most school budgets, but with your help, the Davidson Chorale will be able to fund this unique performance.

This live performance will be professionally recorded for DVD, which the Davison Chorale plans to distribute to their backers. Please take a moment to make a small contribution on Kickstarter. Your donation will go directly to the cost of recording and producing a DVD to benefit the Chorale and to provide stipends to the orchestra and vocal soloists. Kickstarter fundraising ends on December 8; if our modest goal of $4,000 is not met by December 8, all donations must be refunded. Please help.
